The note, due to its glaring spelling, grammar, and formatting errors, was not only rejected by the employer, but marked up in red marker with the abandon of an English professor with a grudge. When is it okay to issue them? How much leave time should they sign off for?
Print It broke my heart. This church had unbelievable potential. Today, it is but another statistic in the ecclesiastical graveyard. But many of our congregations must change. They must change or they will die. If changes do not happen soon, very soon, these churches will die. The pace of congregational death is accelerating. What, then, are some of the key changes churches must make?
Allow me to give you a fair warning. None of them are easy. Here are nine of them: We must stop bemoaning the death of cultural Christianity.

A massive data breach of the adult dating and entertainment company Friend Finder Network has exposed more than million accounts, including and this is really bad over 15 million “deleted” records that were not purged from the databases. The exfiltrated records included million accounts from AdultFriendFinder.
The data accounts for two decades’ worth of data from the company’s largest sites, according to breach notification LeakedSource , which obtained the data. ZDNet broke the news. My take on this: This hack is very similar to the data breach they had last year.
Seeking Men or Women? There’s an App for That! As modern life has shifted away from the home or office-based computers and become all about the smartphone, we now have apps that allow us to literally “hook-up” on the go. Smartphone “friend finder” apps like Ashley Madison for marrieds and partnered individuals seeking “out of the roost” sex , Skout and Blendr for single straight men and women , Grindr to find male-male partners or Pink Cupid to find lesbians and bisexual partners — among many others — are actually friend finders in name only.
More accurately, these more accurately named, “sex-finder” apps are designed to help you geo-locate an immediately available, readily accessible romantic or sexual partner much in the same way that Yelp or Citysearch will direct you to a nearby four star sushi bar or Italian deli with a good smartphone and the flick of your index finger.

Argos is urging people to watch out for the scam, after a couple nearly fell victim to phone fraudsters trying to dupe them out of hundreds of pounds. Mr Smith received a text message from what appeared to be Argos , asking him to call an number regarding an urgent matter over his Argos Card. Anita said that everything sounded normal, as the official Argos automated message asked him to chose an option. Once he was through to a ‘customer representative’, she asked him a number of questions including his name, address, date of birth, card number and the pin on the back of his card.

Anita’s husband was lucky, as his account was later unblocked and he managed to receive a refund – but many customers could be caught out. Stolen images[ edit ] This falsified passport was used in an actual internet romance scam. The deception can be obvious to observers — for example, the photo on this passport does not comply with regulations for size or pose — but these signs are often ignored by victims. This is often known as catfishing. These requests may be for gas money, bus and airplane tickets to visit the victim, medical expenses or education expenses.
There is usually the promise that the scammer will one day join the victim in the victim’s home. The scam usually ends when the victim realizes they are being scammed or stops sending money. Internet[ edit ] Criminal networks defraud lonely people around the world with false promises of love and romance. The scammer says their boss has paid them in postal money orders. The scammer asks the victim to cash the forged money orders, and then wire money to the scammer.
The bank eventually reverts the money order cash but not the wire transfer. These are particularly common at African dating sites. Other scammers also like to entice victims to perform sexual acts on webcam.

Redesign dating apps to lessen racial bias, study recommends September 28, by Melanie Lefkowitz, Cornell University Credit: Brand Communications Mobile dating apps that allow users to filter their searches by race — or rely on algorithms that pair up people of the same race — reinforce racial divisions and biases, according to a new paper by Cornell researchers. As more and more relationships begin online, dating and hookup apps should discourage discrimination by offering users categories other than race and ethnicity to describe themselves, posting inclusive community messages, and writing algorithms that don’t discriminate, the authors said.
Although partner preferences are extremely personal, the authors argue that culture shapes our preferences, and dating apps influence our decisions. More people are using these apps, and they’re critical infrastructures that don’t get a lot of attention when it comes to bias and discrimination,” said Hutson, now a student at the University of Washington School of Law. Tinder and Grindr have tens of millions of users, and Tinder says it has facilitated 20 billion connections since its launch.

Didnt pay too much attention to the profile, just saw a pretty face and said hi. She messages me back, and after exchanging pleasantries, asks me to text her instead of messaging her on the app to save data. I didnt think it was that big of a deal, so i text her. We exchange a couple questions where do you live, etc and she mentions that shes 16 which i dont really take note of at first. She says she has facebook but lost the account info, and does not have enough data for snapchat and instagram, which was the first odd sign for me.
She gives me her full name so i can look for her on facebook, but i cant find the profile. Its also worth mentioning that her use of emojis and general sentence structure was very odd to me as well. I tell her i cant find the facebook profile, and ask her to send me the picture that she has set as her profile picture. She sends me a completely unrelated picture of herself, and says that she no longer has the picture that she has set as her profile picture.
The picture she sends me is legitimately toaster quality. I couldnt believe phones were still being made that took picture so low quality.
